Chapter One: The Vampire Lover

Well, since Yuu-chan insisted on my to begin a story for others to continue, I guess I might as well as do it to avoid her mighty punch (joking, joking). Before I get into writing, I would like to state a few rules for writers who write under this label (the label is the title for the story. And one chapter only per entry).

*~RuLeS~*

  1. If you started a new/made-up term, please add a footnote at the end of your post to explain the term clearly. We don't want any misunderstandings in the next posts!
  2. No spamming and flaming (that includes comments).
  3. If you (including the readers) want to criticize about the previous writer's work, please do so politely.
  4. If you really can't write in English, writings in Malay and Chinese are acceptable too. But please maintain the characters and special terms in English. I will add a translation for your post.
  5. Make sure you are continuing the previous writer's work, not writing a story on your own.
  6. If you just want to write a few paragraphs (or sentences!) but not a paragraph, please state it in your title. Example: Chapter 1 CONTINUED
  7. Spacing between paragraphs, please.
  8. Bear in mind that we're all just trying to have fun (in a nice way) and to *ahem* polish our talents a bit, so it's okay to make mistakes. Don't be shy to write! It doesn't matter even if your writing is short, the grammar is not perfect, the language is not fluent, the plot is not interesting-just write, and one day you might amaze us all with your work!
Basically I think that will be all the rules. If you guys have any rules you want to add, you can suggest to me through comments or email me: l0v3food@hotmail.com
By the way, if you're interested to be guest writer, please email me/leave a comment. We certainly would like to have more contributors!

So, here goes the first chapter of the story. Please continue, fellow contributors (especially Yuu-chan and Jyuki-chan!!!)! Hopefully we can produce at least a novella!

Christie woke up just before dawn, screaming, suddenly realizing that the Grim Reaper, vampires and trolls are nothing but her nightmare.

I really shouldn't be so afraid over vampires and such, everyone knows that they don't exist. And even if they really do, they can only do something in the night. They are powerless when the sun is around, Christie thought, chuckling over her cowardly behavior as she jumped off her bed to get dressed.

As she brushed her teeth, she recalled her nightmare. Even thought it was just a dream, it certainly was a vivid one. She dreamed that a Grim Reaper was raising his scythe to kill her. Out of nowhere, a vampire with crimson short hair and a cool, handsome face (except for his fangs) appeared just at the nick of the time to rescue her. Then the scene changed. The Grim Reaper appeared again, ordering a few trolls to chain Christie and the vampire to the wall. The Grim Reaper gave an evil laugh that sounded more like high-pitched shriek as he watched the trolls whipping Christie and the vampire. Christie woke up at this point.

Be it real or not, this dream is definitely a scary one, Christie shuddered as she started dressing herself. I sure am glad that this is nothing than a nightmare. Wish that I'll forget it soon. Maybe a couple of algebra questions will help take my mind off it. Besides, no one's home. No distraction or whatsoever. This is a perfect day to tackle algebra...

Just as she finished dressing, someone rang her doorbell.

"Eeeps, seems that I've spoke too soon," Christie muttered to herself as she opened the door. "Who'll be here this early? I haven't even have my breakfast yet."

"Greetings, Christie," said the stranger at the door. He was a tall, strong man wearing a hat that covered his face totally. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lorqueil. Can I have your permission to step into your house? We need a talk."

"But I don't know you," Christie tried to reject Lorqueil in a polite way while she closed the door. Another young man appeared to stopped her to close the door. He appeared so abruptly that Christie could've swore that he must've magicked himself here.

"This is important, my dear lady," the young man said cheerfully. "You'll regret if you don't let us in. And don't worry, we aren't going to harm you, see, we're not carrying any weapons with us-" he turned all his pockets inside out to prove to Christie that he's really weaponless-"And if you're worried that we might rape you... Well, I can't tell you that I don't have a dick because I do have one but don't worry, raping you is not the important matter that we want to discuss about. By the way, you can call me Mirage. Everyone calls me so because I appear here and there whenever I feel like doing so."

"What kind of nonsense you're telling her!" Lorqueil punched Mirage a little on his cheek. "Forgive my friend here, he likes lame jokes. Anyway, please let us in."

Christie hesitated. Let them in, or not? She had a strong sense of deja vu when she first heard Lorqueil's voice. Maybe they wouldn't harm her. Maybe they really have something important to tell. It's worth to take this risk, just to find out what they're going to tell me, Christie thought.

"Please come in," Christie said as she led them in her house. Mirage seemed to be curious about everything in Christie's house as he looked and tried to play with everything in her house.

"Ouch, this hurts," Mirage yelled as he burned his finger with a lighter. He looked like he never used a lighter before.

Lorqueil, on the hand, paid no interest to anything in Christie's house and he seemed to know where everything was as if he had been here for many times. He opened the refrigerator and poured himself a glass of wine. Christie thought it was pretty rude for a stranger to do so but he did not said anything about that. Her curiosity was way greater than the annoyance.

These two people sure are strange. One acted like a complete fool and another is too cool to be real, Christie thought again as she watched Mirage having fun with a radio.

"Stop fooling around, Mirage," Lorqueil said coolly. "We have important things to do. Christianne needs to know her true identity before it's too late."

"I beg your pardon? True identity?" Christie blurted out.

"Yep, that's right," Mirage said helpfully. "Now, don't be too surprise about what we're going to tell you. You are the princess of Kingdom on the Cloud. Your actual name is Christianne Cloudye and you're the youngest princess of King Cloudye. You are famous for your beauty, your flying skills, your healing abilities."

"You're kidding," Christie cut in.

"I know I joke a lot but I was serious about what I said just now," Mirage said.

"Can you prove it?"

"Allow me to do so," Lorqueil said. "But don't be too surprised about what I'm going to do." Without warning, he lowered his head to Christie's neck and bit at it. Christie screamed and tried to backed away but Lorqueil hugged her to prevent her from backing away. Then, he began to suck Christie's blood.

"V-vampire!" Christie gasped.

"Done," Lorqueil said as he smacked his lips. "Take your time to familiarize yourself with your lost memories. Ask us questions if you're in doubt."

Christie was going to shoo them out of her house (Who won't? Imagine a stranger who came to your house and began to suck your blood) when a series of images suddenly entered her mind. She saw a guy with crimson short hair with a handsome face and a pair of long fangs whom she thought he must be Lorqueil. She saw Lorqueil conjuring a diamond with his powers for her silver circlet and fainted after doing so. She had to revive him by breathing to him mouth to mouth when she realized that he was faking it. She saw a middle aged man with a gold crown (that must be King Cloudye, she supposed) shouting to Lorqueil: "Don't you dare to talk to my daughter again, you filthy vampire! Go back to the place where you belong to!" She saw Lorqueil sighed:" I never enjoy subsisting on blood. I never like it but it's not my choice whether I'll be a vampire or a Cloudysian like you. Sons don't choose fathers. If I'm given a chance to choose my identity, I'd much rather give away my current identity as the Prince Vampire. I rather be a beggar, if a beggar can love you without obstacles." She saw Lorqueil's father, King Vampire shouting at her: "Don't you ruin my son! Someday he's going to run the Vampire Kingdom! Get away from my son before I kill you!" She saw Lorqueil hugging her tightly, crying and said: "You better hide in human world first. I will deal with my father here." Which she in turn replied:"And you better help me forget my identity. Return them to me when the coast is clear. Remember to come and find me, Lorqueil!" She saw Lorqueil cutting his arm to pour her a goblet of his blood. "Drink this," he said. "A vampire's blood is very powerful. I've charmed it to make you forget your identity and lost your powers after you drink it. You'll have them back once I extract them from you." She saw Lorqueil defending her against trolls and other evil creatures and yelled to her: "Run, now!"

Christie felt like some strange energy had was flowing in her body. She felt herself transforming into the Princess Christianne Cloudye she used to be. She found that she could exercise the energy that was flowing in her body, and she tried to shoot a stream of energy at a vase, which it broke as a result.

"The princess is back," Mirage said, amazed.

Christie walked towards Lorqueil. So this is the guy, the vampire that used to, and will continue to be her lover.

"Lorqueil... " she took off his hat. She saw the handsome young face with fangs, with tears rolling in his eyes. "Still good-looking as you used to be... "

"You too, my dear," Lorqueil said, half-smiling, half-crying. "You have no idea how much I miss you since you left... Everyday I see you in my dreams... And I'm always following you, but I can't let you know I'm there for it's not safe yet to reveal my identity to you... and to let you know about yourself..."

"I know, I know it must be painful for you..." Christie replied. "You brought my circlet?"

"Certainly," Lorqueil said, slipping the silver circlet over Christie's head. It was the one which he conjured a diamond for. The name "Christianne Cloudye" was carved nicely on it too. "And I brought you this, too," he rummaged for something in his pocket. Then he took out a necklace of vampires' fangs and wear it around Christie's neck. "This stimulate your powers."

"Your fangs?" Christie laughed.

"I don't have that much," Lorqueil laughed too. "Nah. I collected them off vampire corpses. Then I enhance them with the power of my blood. So make you sure you wear it all the time, as my love to you locked within can protect you from harm, too."

Not being able to control the feelings anymore, they kissed.

"Ahem, I hope you two lovebirds don't mind me interrupting, but I thought we have real important matters to discuss right now?" Mirage said in an attempt to regain their attention.

"Yeah, you're right," Lorqueil said as he withdrew himself from the passionate kiss.

"By the way it boggles my mind how can anyone french kiss with a vampire, seeing how long their fangs are," Mirage said. "Maybe you would like to share your techniques, Lorqueil, I might need it when I get in love with a sexy female vampire. If I ever meet one, that's it."

"Shut up on that," Lorqueil said, blushing a little, which looks cute with his crimson hair. "Let's get back to our topic. Christie, you're in grave peril."

Christie looked horrified. "Why so? I thought the coast is clear?"

"Not really. But if I don't tell you who you are, your situation will be worse. For one thing, King Cloudye and my father are still against our love. Also, even though I've erased your memory and took away your power, some other evil powers still managed to find out about you, and they're planning to kidnap you to blackmail King Cloudye. They're also planning to use the fact that we're in love to cause chaos in the magical worlds-both Kingdom on the cloud, Vampire Kingdom, Hell and the Evil Empire. They'll do anything to gain more power. Besides that, they wanted to use your blood to perform the Ceremony of Great Grim. It's true that they can use anyone's blood for that, but using your blood will enhance their powers even more," Lorqueil explained.

Christie knew that Ceremony of Great Grim is a ceremony where Grim Reapers gain more power of dark arts by using blood and the victim's fright.

"Which means... The Grim Reapers are after me?" Christie asked tentatively.

"Did anyone mentioned my name?" a silhoutte appeared behind Christie. As it got nearer to them, the three of them let out a gasp.

It was The Grim Reaper.

*************************************************************************************
footnote:
  • Christie is a Cloudysian (a resident of the Kingdom on the Cloud). She is not a vampire.
  • There are more than one Grim Reaper. But when I say "The Grim Reaper" (with the word "the"), it means... well, it means The Grim Reaper. That's his name. You can have other grim reapers and name them on your own.
  • The Kingdom on the Cloud is the only magical kingdom that belongs to the good side.

*Sorry if my story is a little confusing! What to do, I'm still an amateur... =3 Gomenasai~~~!!!
And if there's anything you can't understand, just leave a comment. I'll try my best to explain.
