Attention, Contributors: General Rules

Dear fellow contributors,
I would like to state a few general rules for writings on this blog. These rules will apply for posts under all labels.

  1. When you continue a person's story, it's okay to add your made-up terms/characters/etc, as long as you add a footnote at the bottom of your entry to explain the terms you add. Example: Footnote: Mobuella refers to a golden spring onion that doesn't smell like a spring onion. Footnote: Loki is a vampire that hates to suck blood.
  2. Stories are continued in the form of posts, not comments.
  3. Usually we write a chapter in a post. If the next writer feels like continuing the chapter instead of continuing the story by writing a next chapter, it's okay. But remember to write your title as: Chapter 1 CONTINUED I, Chapter 1 CONTINUED II, and so on.
  4. When you start writing on a chapter, there's no need to write words like Chapter 1 PART 1, and things like that. Because the next writer might not want to continue your chapter.
  5. When you want to bring the story to a turning point, make sure you do it more slowly to get the readers in the "right" feel. Don't do it too abruptly. Example: If the previous writer said Belle is suffering from cancer and you suddenly say things like "Belle feels so good that she can run a hundred miles." Please write something like: "Belle told herself, I must survive for my dear Brian! And with that thought in mind, she bravely accept treatments and exercise as hard as she could. Few months later, she felt like she was transformed from a caterpillar into a butterfly. She still feels a little pain here and there but at least she can now live a normal girl's life." There, isn't it much better? Even if your story is magical, you still can't lead the story to a totally different direction too abruptly!
  6. Posts under the label *Notice* are not a story. They are announcements, notice for writers (and maybe readers) and maybe some information you would like to share with other contributors.
  7. No spamming and flaming will be allowed in both posts and comments.
  8. If you want to criticize someone's work, do it politely. Don't swear, scold, be sarcastic or sound like you are challenging the writer (in a nasty way). We are all good citizens, aren't we? Example: Instead of saying "Who do you think you are-J.K. Rowling? Come on! If you know you're not up to that level yet, why pretend to be like one?", why not say it in a nicer way:"You are doing pretty good as a beginner. I think you can improve by reading more. Keep it up!" Always try to make you comments constructive, not destructive. We don't want any writers here to feel like a loser!

Basically I think that's all. If you have any rules you think we should add, tell us through comments!
